He said: 'I was in the house on Saturday morning when the neighbours called to  say our dog was running around in the street with a massive knife in her head. 'I didn't believe them but when I went outside I saw it for myself. 'The neighbours said they had caught intruders trying to enter their home and  they must have then tried to get into my place when Bella attacked them in our  garden. 'One of them had stabbed her right in the head and the end of the knife was  poking out between her eyes. 'I feared the worst and assumed she was going to die, but incredibly she was  running around as if nothing had happened.' Mr Swart, a professional artist from Stellenbosch near Cape Town, said he  rushed Bella to the vet for surgery after the stabbing. He said: 'My wife was at work but she came home and we drove down to the vet. 'Stella was on the back seat and every time she turned her head the handle of  the knife banged against the window. 'She obviously couldn't feel anything as she was acting normally, but it looked  horrific. Sickening: Vernon Swart with his Bella while she had a knife in her head 'The vet couldn't believe what he was seeing and said he had no idea how Bella  had survived. 'He put her under an anaesthetic and then pulled the blade out. 'It was imbedded so far into her skull that he had to put his knees up against  Bella's head and lever it with his arms. 'When we saw the size of the knife we were absolutely shocked. 'The vet said it must have missed her brain by fractions of a centimetre and  otherwise she would have been dead.' The eight inch diver's knife was later handed to the police as evidence after  the surgery. Detectives confirmed they had opened a case of malicious damage to property  following the incident. They were today hunting for the suspected thieves, who ran away after the  attempted break-in. Meanwhile Bella was recovering at home after her ordeal. Mr Swart said: 'She's been lying beside the fire and we've been treating her to  all sorts of nice food, but she seems absolutely fine. 'People keep coming to look at her but she can't understand what all the fuss  is about.' He added: 'We're just so relieved that she's okay. 'She's been with our family for ages and we'd have been devastated to have lost  her. The Jars Murderer - Lam Kor-Wan

Whose picture is this? 

The above picture is a picture of Lam Kor-Wan, the very first Hong Kong serial killer. He killed four women in four nights. 

I know this story after watching the CI (Crime and Investigation, Channel 732 Astro) at 2 this afternoon.

Here is the list of victims he had killed:

Chan Fung-lan, female, age 22, body found in seven separate pieces in the Shing Mun River, New Territories.

Chan Mong Kip, age 31, body found in a rice bag near Tai Hang Road, Hong Kong Island.

Leung Sau-wan, female, age unknown, body found in a rice bag near Tai Hang Road, Hong Kong Island.

Leung Wai-sum, female, age 17, body found in a rice bag near Tai Hang Road, Hong Kong Island.

Lam who worked as a taxi driver, would pick up female passengers, strangle them with electrical wire. He then brought the victim to his house,  took pictures and video of the victims and filming himself performing an act of necrophilia (doing sex to a corp) with his fourth victim. Lam cut off their sexual organ (breast and pubic), then put them in  Tupperware containers with preservative liquid. The other body parts was disposed in some places via his taxi.

What's the motive of this murder? Probably mental disorder...! He ever claimed that he is a God messenger. God told him to kill the women. Nevertheless, the prosecution has rejected the asylum motives as all he works well planned. He actually too eager to know the female anatomy, as he ever work as a nude woman photographer.

On April 8, 1983 at the end of a 21 day trial with a seven member all male jury, Lam was found guilty of four counts of murder and sentenced to death by hanging. On the 29th August 1984 Lam's sentence was commuted to life imprisonment, as was the tradition before the abolition of the death penalty in 1993. He is currently serving his life sentence at Shek Pik Prison.

Artist Draws Portraits Using the Ashes of Her Subjects

Collins thinks she may be the only artist in the world to brush the raw ashes of a deceased person onto a pencil portrait. Using ashes as a medium is a growing trend in the artwork, but while some are mixing it with paint to create abstract works, moulding them into bizarre sculptures, or even compressing and using it as pencil filling (like lead), Raven Collins uses the ashes to create commission portraits of the deceased, whether they be human or animal. She’s only been doing it for a while, but ash-portraits already make up 90% of her business. As cremation becomes the more popular option in the funeral industry, the number of choices of what to do with the ashes also increases. Some people prefer to keep them in a fancy urn, others spill them into the ocean or over a peaceful pasture, but more and more people opt to incorporate their loved-ones’ remains into various artworks. Artists like Raven sometimes get referrals from funeral homes, but most of their advertising is word of mouth and online exposure. Collins’ idea was inspired by a tragic even that occurred two years ago. Her nephews Gavin, 3, and Sebastian, 1, died during a fire in Tampa, and even though she had been drawing portraits since high-school, the boys’ portraits were the hardest the 37-year-old artist ever had to do. In her suffering, she came up with the idea of incorporating the deceased’s ashes into their portraits. Her tragic experience helps Raven Collins to connect with her clients and better understand what they want in a portrait. Normally she receives a small amount of ashes in the mail, which she puts into a mortar and grinds to a fine powder, using a pestle. All it takes is a table spoon or less, then she adds a liquid to create a paste which she spreads over a drawn portrait, using a Q-tip. They can be spread anywhere in the portrait, in the hair of the subject, on a lapel, somewhere in the corner, but never on the face. The 76-year-old woman walked down the hallway of Clearview Addictions Clinic, searching for the right department. She passed signs for the "Heroin Addiction Department (HAD)," the "Smoking Addiction Department (SAD)" and the "Bingo Addiction Department (BAD)." Then she spotted the department she was looking for: "Facebook Addiction Department (FAD)."

It was the busiest department in the clinic, with about three dozen people filling the waiting room, most of them staring blankly into their Blackberries and iPhones. A middle-aged man with unkempt hair was pacing the room, muttering,"I need to milk my cows. I need to milk my cows."

A twenty-something man was prone on the floor, his face buried in his hands, while a curly-haired woman comforted him.

"Don't worry. It'll be all right."

"I just don't understand it. I thought my update was LOL-worthy, but none of my friends even clicked the 'like' button."

"Oh yes. I've even connected with some of the gals from high school -- I still call them 'gals.' I hadn't heard from some of them in ages, so it was exciting to look at their profiles and figure out who's retired, who's still working, and who's had some work done. I love browsing their photos and reading their updates. I know where they've been on vacation, which movies they've watched, and whether they hang their toilet paper over or under. I've also been playing a game with some of them."

"No, Mafia Wars. I'm a Hitman. No one messes with Edna."

"Wouldn't you rather meet some of your friends in person?"

"No, not really. It's so much easier on Facebook. We don't need to gussy ourselves up. We don't need to take baths or wear perfume or use mouthwash. That's the best thing about Facebook -- you can't smell anyone. Everyone is attractive, because everyone has picked a good profile pic. One of the gals is using a profile pic that was taken, I'm pretty certain, during the Eisenhower Administration. "

"What pic are you using?"

"Well, I spent five hours searching for a profile pic, but couldn't find one I really liked. So I decided to visit the local beauty salon."

"To make yourself look prettier?"

"No, to take a pic of one of the young ladies there. That's what I'm using."

"Didn't your friends notice that you look different?"

"Some of them did, but I just told them I've been doing lots of yoga."

"When did you realize that your Facebooking might be a problem?"

"I realized it last Sunday night, when I was on Facebook and saw a message on my wall from my husband: 'I moved out of the house five days ago. Just thought you should know.'"
